Rockets retain assistants
After the Rockets' best postseason in a dozen years, the team has extended the contracts of its assistant coaches for a season to match head coach Rick Adelman's, Rockets general manager Daryl Morey said Thursday.

A third season was added to the contracts of Elston Turner, Jack Sikma, T.R. Dunn and R.J. Adelman to match Rick Adelman's three-year deal with the team.

"This week we matched the assistant coaches' contractual situation to Rick's," Morey said. "We have an underrated coaching staff. We are very happy they got the national recognition they deserve when they led us to a seven-game series in the second round of the playoffs even with all our injuries this season."

In two seasons under Adelman, the Rockets have gone 108-56. Adelman is 860-537 in 18 years as an NBA head coach.
