Houston Rockets Notes, Quotes 2009-12-02

Houston Rockets Notes, Quotes 2009-12-02--Rockets forward Luis Scola has never missed an NBA game and does not think he will now, either.

Scola left Sunday's game in the first minute after he was hit by Etan Thomas on a dunk, opening a seven-stitch gash. Scola did not return but said he thinks he will be cleared to play on Wednesday.

"We're going to see a doctor (Monday), just to be sure I'm OK," Scola said. "I wanted to come back (Sunday), but Keith (Jones the Rockets' athletic trainer) wouldn't let me."

--Carl Landry had his second consecutive strong road game, a key improvement after struggling on the road this season.

Averaging 11 points on 41.1 percent shooting and 4.9 rebounds on the road, he had 21 points and 10 rebounds. He had 18 points in Atlanta in his previous road game. Landry is averaging 20.1 points on 68 percent shooting and 6.3 rebounds in home games.

"Obviously, I feel a little bit more comfortable at home," Landry said. "It's still early. There's a long season to go. Hopefully, it can continue and get better, get the road to be like this if not better. I want to be a good player in this league. If I want to do so, I have to play better at home and on the road."

QUOTE TO NOTE: "It was a great win, a great win. The first half, Luis gets hurt right away and Carl gets three fouls. I put everybody in. Everybody contributed. The second half, we just stayed with it. It was one of our better wins, I think, after our last couple games, coming here on the road, starting a long road turn. I think it was just a great win." -- Rockets coach Rick Adelman.
