--C Yao Ming said he injured his ankle, foot and leg. It was just one injury, on the top of his foot, just below his shin. But it was enough of a concern that it might have felt as if he was burdened with all sorts of injuries.
"I remember it hurting in the second quarter, third quarter and fourth quarter, one for each quarter," Yao said. "There's different twists, one for each time." Though the injury is not considered serious and Yao did not come out of the game until the last minute, he will have a precautionary CT scan and a short turnaround to get well by Sunday's Game 4.
--G Von Wafer returned to his usual place in the Rockets rotation after he had been sent to the locker room early in Game 2 for protesting when he was taken out of the game.
Wafer met with coach Rick Adelman the next day, apologized to his teammates on Friday and sprinted off the floor each time he was taken out.
"We just got to move forward," Wafer said. "Everybody just wants to win. Everybody's on the same page. It's time to move forward.
"All families aren't perfect. It's time to move on."
QUOTE TO NOTE: "I think each quarter we have our problems. In the first half we had too many turnovers and that gave them fast-break points, which they really want. In the third quarter we just did not show up. We didn't play well, and in the fourth quarter it was too late." -- Yao Ming
